On The Other Side Of Comfortable

Description:

What if the very thing you've been trying to avoid is the thing that would make you feel more alive?

In this episode, Blaine explores tapas, one of the Niyamas from Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. Often translated as discipline or inner fire, tapas is the willingness to choose growth over comfort, even when the easier option is to walk away.

A year earlier, Blaine had signed up for a duathlon. As race day approached and life became busier than expected, she seriously considered backing out more than once. Instead, she decided to keep her commitment and show up.

The race became more than a physical challenge. It was a reminder that some of the most rewarding experiences in life happen when we're willing to be uncomfortable. Confidence grows when we do hard things. Life becomes more interesting when we stop choosing only what's familiar.

If you've been tempted to back away from something because it feels difficult or inconvenient, this episode is an invitation to consider what might be waiting for you if you keep going. Now available wherever you get your podcasts!
